There have been a lot of things I’ve had to overcome in my life but the hardest was worrying.  I used to be the infamous worrywart.  I still have my days that I get concerned about things but I’ve learned to turn them over to God.

For example, every time I got ready to do something big in my life, I would literally lose sleep worrying about what could go wrong.

Now, I do things a little differently.  As soon as I get the little bug in my ear that starts telling me about everything that can go wrong, I tell myself to let go.

I let go and let God.

You have to begin to trust your higher power to take care of your life.  It takes a long time to be able to do that.  Once it happens, you will feel liberated.  You’ll sleep again.  You’ll lose that pain that builds up in your chest.

Your anxiety will be gone.  Your head will stop hurting. 

If you want to know how to stop worrying, here’s how.  Start to tell yourself these things.

  • It’s going to be okay no matter what happens.
  • Everything works out in the end.
  • I’m not alone.
There is always a problem you have that you don’t want to let go of.  For me, this was one of the biggest in my life.  I created conflict on my own because I would focus so much on the negative that I created self-sabotage.
To think, it’s easier for you to waste time making your mind go crazy thinking about every worst case scenario.  It’s so much easier to let go of worry and let situations handle themselves.
Worry creates fear.  Fear stops you from moving forward.  When you stop moving forward life doesn’t stop, only you do.

Keep that in mind the next time something big or small comes up and you feel tempted to worry.
